As Vice President of Business Development, Andrew lead’s Cornerstone Alliance’s business retention and expansion team, working across sectors to foster economic growth in Berrien County.
Passionate about building equitable, economically resilient, compelling places, Andrew is a results-driven and innovative place management and economic development leader. He has 12 years of experience in downtown development, government and community relations, public policy and advocacy, communications, historic preservation, public space management, placemaking, and fund development.
Most recently, Andrew served for five years as President of Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership, leading the community’s downtown place management and growth efforts. Prior to that he was Associate Director of the Governor’s Office of Urban Initiatives, and began his career as Executive Director of Downtown Muskegon Now. Andrew holds a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Eastern Michigan University and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Public History at Western Michigan University.
Andrew, his wife Allison, and their son live in Kalamazoo. An avid outdoor enthusiast and traveler, Andrew enjoys exploring communities across the country, visiting their downtowns, mountain bike trails, ski areas, and skateparks.
