Brook Thomas

Brook joined the Cornerstone Alliance Board of Directors in November, 2023. Having lived in and around St. Joseph for most of her life, Brook is proud to be serving as the Mayor of St. Joseph after having served two years as City Commissioner from 2021-2023.

When not engaged in city-related work, you can find Brook fulfilling her duties as a social worker interviewing children who have been suspected of being victims of sexual and physical abuse. At the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan, she works as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside local law enforcement, the prosecutor’s office, and Children’s Protective Services to investigate these cases.

Continuing with the theme of protecting and advocating for vulnerable populations, Brook serves as a member of the Human Trafficking Taskforce of Southwest Michigan, is Board Chair for the OutCenter of Southwest Michigan, and recently served on the advisory board for H.E.A.L. (Health Equity Advisors for Lakeland).
