Vickers Engineering, Inc., a precision machining and prototyping business for the automotive, energy and consumer product sectors, announced today the renovation of their facility in New Troy, Michigan. The Vickers Engineering project includes an investment of $5.1 million in capital equipment and building improvements, and will create 53 jobs.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) awarded Vickers $160,000 for a Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant.

Cornerstone Alliance, Berrien County’s lead economic development organization, has been involved since the earliest stages of the project, serving as the chief facilitator for all interactions between Vickers Engineering and the MEDC.

“This is a significant opportunity for Vickers to continue to grow and expand our employment opportunities,” said Matt Tyler, President and CEO of Vickers Engineering, Inc. “The support of both the MEDC and Cornerstone Alliance were critical to this process of additional job creation here in Berrien County.”

“We are pleased that Vickers Engineering has chosen to grow their employee base in Berrien County,” said Rob Cleveland, President, Cornerstone Alliance. “Vickers knows they will find the quality workforce in Berrien County that they need in order to increase their production. Vickers is a great community partner and we are glad they are growing with us. We appreciate the collaboration with the MEDC and its recognition of the positive impact this project has on Berrien County residents.”
