Special Fundraising Project

Be a part of the Transformation Underway!

Opportunity to support education and economic development initiatives underway

Tuesday, August 10, 2010 was a historic day for our community as four golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Johnny Miller participated in the Grand Opening Event for The Golf Club at Harbor Shores. Throughout their visit to the community, each of these legends shared that Harbor Shores is more than just a golf course; it is about the transformation that is taking place in a community-- the revitalization of both land and people.

In an effort to continue transforming lives and the community, Lake Michigan College and Cornerstone Alliance are teaming up on a campaign to raise funds that will provide future scholarship and educational opportunities for area residents and support economic development efforts as well.  The initiative is called the Champions for Change Bridge Fundraising Campaign.

The Champions for Change Bridge connects golf holes 2 and 3 of The Golf Club at Harbor Shores and new park parcels as a part of the Jean Klock Park walking trails.  The bridge crosses the Paw Paw River, will be utilized by both golfers and pedestrians, and connects the communities of St. Joseph on the west side of the Paw Paw River and Benton Harbor on the east side of the river.

Through this fundraising campaign, you can purchase a commemorative plate that will be affixed to one side of the bridge with proceeds supporting educational opportunities at Lake Michigan College.  Cost to purchase a plate is $250. Checks can be made payable to Cornerstone Alliance. Other payment options are available including credit cards as well as a payment plan.
